FP-TDI SNP genotyping

SNP Genotyping Services

Our laboratory provides SNP genotyping services to researchers at Washington University and elsewhere. Our experience includes model organisms as well as human SNP research. As a genotyping center for the International HapMap Project, we generated over 750,000 genotypes on human chromosome 7p. Our high-throughput system uses the FP-TDI platform and gives us the capability to generate up to 10,000 genotypes per day with 99.9% accuracy.

SNP genotyping can be useful for genetic mapping, disease assocation studies, gene finding, and other types of research. We use information from NCBI's SNP database and frequencies from the HapMap Project along with our own experimental data to select the best SNPs to assay. Our probe design algorithm has evolved over years of research to optimize every SNP assay. Extensive quality control measures (both human and computational) let us further refine the quality of data.
