FP-TDI SNP genotyping

Services: Informatics

We provide a variety of informatics services, typically to customers who come to us for SNP genotyping and/or targeted resequencing.

SNP Selection

Our informatics services start with the selection of SNPs for your project. You come to us with the gene(s) or chromosomal region(s) that you're interested in. We will use our customized database to provide you with a list of the SNPs in that region with the alleles, heterozygosity, function class, and validation of each SNP. We will also indicate the SNPs for which we can design an FP-TDI assay using our high throughput protocol. Using information from the HapMap Project, we can assist you in selecting a small number of "tag SNPs" that capture most of the variation across the gene.

Assay Design

Our high-throughput assay design system for sequencing and genotyping is the result of extensive collaboration between geneticists and informaticians. By taking advantage of our data pipeline, you leave the assay design and primer ordering to us. We can also design assays for targeted resequencing of genomic DNA.

Data Collection

We have built a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for high-throughput genotyping and sequencing. We'll use our database and software to interpret, store, and analyze the data. All you have to do is specify the format (XML, tab-delimited, or other) that we use to send the data.
