Genotyping the Hox-A ENCODE Region
The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) launched a public research consortium named ENCODE, the Encyclopedia Of DNA Elements,
in September 2003, to carry out a project to identify all functional elements in the human genome sequence. The first phase of this project
involves close interactions between computational and experimental scientists to evaluate a number of methods for annotating the human genome.
For more project information, see the ENCODE Page at NHGRI.
The ENCODE region known as Hox-A maps to human chromosome 7p, our region for the International HapMap Project.
As part of the ENCODE project, we are genotyping Hox-A SNPs in populations of European, African, and Asian origins.
